Hi Department Leaders. 

I welcome an opportunity to serve as an intern this summer with the Department of Community Justice. As a student currently pursuing a degree in Family and Human Services at the University of Oregon, I am deeply committed to advocacy, mental health, and equity. I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to your mission to “enhance community safety and reduce criminal activity by holding youth and adults accountable in a fair and just manner, assisting them to develop skills necessary for success, and effectively using public resources.” 

This internship represents a critical step in my professional journey toward working in justice and social services. Growing up in North Portland, the mission of DCJ most aligns to my values and reflects the way I want to give back to the community that raised me.

I am hard working, organized, and work well with teams. I bring a strong sense of purpose, a dedication to restorative approaches to health and wellness, and the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with diverse populations.
